How Scoring & Selection Works
Round 1: Listening Test (Cut-off)
All eligible students sit the listening aptitude test. Scores are ranked. The top ~25-30 students are invited to Round 2. This is a cut-off round - you must score in the top group to progress.
Round 2: Performance Audition (Final Ranking)
Round 2 candidates perform 1-2 prepared pieces (5-7 minutes total). Performance quality, technique, musicality, and stage presence are assessed.
The top 10 performers receive music criterion places.
Both Rounds Matter
Round 1 gets you through the door. Round 2 determines your final ranking. Excel at both to maximize your chances.
